Both fans of Baby Looney Tunes cartoon characters and families in general will enjoy watching this Eggs-Traordinary Adventure and trying fun Easter activities for kids.
With so many choices available, parents may find it difficult to know which animated Easter television specials are the best to share with children or buy for a home video library. The 2003 Easter holiday special Baby Looney Tunes' Eggs-Traordinary Adventure is quality family-friendly entertainment that teaches good lessons using humor and animation that is adequate for the kind of product this is. Even families not already fans of Looney Tunes cartoon characters will be likely to decide to find a place for this holiday tv special in their DVD collections. Baby Looney Tunes CharactersSimilar to Jim Henson's Muppet Babies, the Baby Looney Tunes are younger versions of classic Looney Tunes cartoon characters that live with an adult caretaker. The Looney Tunes babies appearing in this Baby Looney Tunes DVD movie are Baby Bugs, Baby Daffy, Baby Sylvester, Baby Tweety, Baby Lola, and Baby Taz. They are taken care of by Granny, voiced by June Foray, who also voiced Granny in the original Looney Tunes cartoons. While parents will be pleased by the good behavior modeled by the Baby Looney Tunes, adult fans of the classic Looney Tunes characters may be put off by their changed personalities. All of them are softened, with the exception of still cynical and acerbic Baby Daffy. Baby Sylvester and Baby Tweety are pals, and the babies do what they can to look out for each other and comfort each other in times of trouble. Eggs-Traordinary Adventure – Plot On the day before Easter, Granny reads a story to the babies about the Easter bunny. The babies then wait impatiently for Easter to come, especially Baby Taz, who keeps bursting into disruptive crying fits that the other babies immediately try to stop. Soon the babies are taking sides about whether the Easter bunny is even real, with Baby Tweety and Baby Lola believing that anything is possible, Baby Daffy scoffing at the idea of the Easter bunny, and Baby Bugs (the leader) caught between the two viewpoints and unsure what to believe. Granny highlights the message of the show by talking about the magic of spring and the importance of using "other eyes" to look at and for things that may initially appear empty or impossible. After naptime, all the babies except Baby Bugs and Baby Daffy go outside to try to find the land of Easter. Following the others, Baby Bugs and Baby Daffy try to bring some magic into the other babies' lives by dressing up as the Easter bunny and an Easter duck and painting rocks to look like Easter eggs. When the deception is discovered, the kids fall asleep outside...then wake up the next morning to discover magic has happened overnight – both the magic of blooming spring flowers and the magic of a field full of real Easter eggs and other Easter decorations and treats. Eggs-Traordinary Adventure – TV Easter Cartoon Special Review for Parents Although Baby Daffy can be cynical and bossy, he, too, learns to look at the world with an open heart and mind. Overall, this animated Easter holiday special teaches lessons about enjoying being a kid without growing up too fast, staying young at heart to be able to see the magic in the world, and making dreams come true while keeping in mind that the process of looking for something can be as fun as finding it.
