In addition to regular appearances by Laurie Berkner, Jack will be visited by other musical guests including Steven Burns ("Steve" from Blue's Clues) and Lisa Loeb.

The second season of Jack’s Big Music Show promises to be a great one! The season premiere will feature The Laurie Berkner Band singing “Mahalo” as well as three songs by Jack and his friends. Noggin will air two new episodes of the popular preschool series every weekend during the months of January and February. Children will be reunited with their good friend, Steve, from Blue’s Clues (Steven Burns) when he appears in a video collaboration. Other musical guests will include Lisa Loeb, Nuttin’ But Stringz, and the Dirty Sock Funtime Band. Jon Stewart and Cheryl Hines will also stop by the clubhouse this season.

Parents who are unfamiliar with this program may be interested in the educational goals for the program which are stated clearly on Noggin‘s website:

The mission of Jack’s Big Music Show is to expose and foster an appreciation of music. Music and musical instruments help children expand their universe and develop memory, language, literacy and reasoning skills as well as the cognitive, social and motor skills that are needed to excel in school.

The first episode of the new season is entitled “Snow Day” because of a mistake which results in the clubhouse being filled with snow, turning it into a winter wonderland. Wishing for a beach party, the gang ends up melting the snow by playing Hawaiian music with the help of their neighbor, Prudence.

The official page for the program gives children and parents access to ten full-length music videos by Laurie Berkner and other artists. Parents and older children can print the lyrics to popular songs from the show to make singing along easier than ever. Children can also print colorful finger puppets to represent their favorite characters during pretend play. Finally, little ones can make music in Jack’s online clubhouse by choosing an instrument and playing along with the band! On January 5th, Noggin’s website will be updated to include even more online fun related to the show, including “Jack’s Big Animal Jamboree” game and an interview with popular children’s singer, Laurie Berkner.

Watch for new episodes of Jack’s Big Music Show beginning on Saturday, January 6. Episodes from the first season are currently being aired at 10am and 1pm ET.
