The Secret of Pirate Island stars the Playmobil toys in their first feature-length adventure.

Based on the popular Playmobil Pirates Playsets, this is a fun story that includes not only a great adventure movie, but a second Interactive Mode in which kids can create their own story.

When seven-year-old Jack and his older sister Amelia visit their grandparents, they find an adventure beyond anything they could ever imagine. They mysteriously walk into alternate realities, like medieval times or a time when pirates roamed the seas. Argh, matey.

Two Ways to Watch the Movie

Kids can select whether they want to view “Captain Gruff’s Favorite Movie Mode” or use the interactive option. With this option they become basically the director of the film. The story begins the same as with both options. But once they get to their grandparents’ home, kids can then begin changing the story.

An Interactive Movie

As the story runs, Jack and Amelia will turn to the viewer and ask “What should we do?” It is then the viewer can select one of the options by using the remote control. For instance, the first option the children ask the viewer is whether they should go outside in the backyard to play or go to the attic to explore what is up there. The viewer then selects which direction the children should go.

Jack and Amelia find themselves in the midst of a mysterious island and are one step ahead of the pirates who are looking for their treasure. This movie is filled with adventure and fun.

Playmobil Playsets

The Playmobil playsets have been around for a long time and generations have enjoyed playing with them. The Pirates Playset is one of the most popular. These playsets spark the imaginations of the players and let them explore and create using their own minds. Creativity, imagination, and fun combine with all the Playmobil playsets.

Playmobil was introduced at the 1974 International Toy Fair in Nuremberg. Since then the playsets have been entertaining kids and sparking imaginations all around the world.

While this DVD is geared for ages up to twelve, there are plenty of adults who will enjoy creating their own story too. With all the different options, there are twenty-seven different story combinations that are possible to create.

The Sony website has fun games for kids to go along with the DVD, as well as coloring pages to print.

The bonus feature on the DVD includes a pirate sing-a-long.
