Do you think the kids will even notice his departure? Kids tend to be really good at taking things in stride, sometimes better than adults, I think. I have read that it's the parents who are most concerned and observant of these things.
Or do you think this is the kind of thing that a parent needs to explain to a puzzled child who might miss him but not really understand what happened?
What do you think?

I think it depends on the child. I know it wouldn't get past my 4 year old. He's a smartie-pants, so I showed him the goodbye video Greg taped. He was sad but was happy to hear Greg was OKAY! happy

It's been a tough year for Australians, that's for sure! I suppose it would depend upon the children's age. An older 3 or 4 yo is more likely to notice a change than a younger child.
